My wife has suffered under this new scheme...she is a green performing duty manager and has been for the last 2 years. She has done all and more required from her and has been right royally shafted. I feel that some store managers are using this opportunity to get some weaker, more docile managers in position as they are threatened by anyone who shows any sign of ability. I am disgusted that she missed out by 1 point and was not even offered any development to assist her to fulfill the new terms and conditions...not that anyone knows what they are! The high skill levels built up by these managers, often under incredible pressure, are being thrown away. This will end up biting Tesco's in the arse but hey ho, something fun to watch...

This has affected my partner and i am appalled and angry at Tesco handling of this. i feel they should be offering redundancy packages to those close to retirement age rather than trying to force them into Tesco Express which would be a significant wage loss. I think they have avoided this route due to bad publicity as everyone knows Tesco is one store not feeling the pinch...although thanks to their restructuring during a recession many managers and their families will!
